Tyger Drew-Honey (Artificially Yours)

Artificially Yours is a gripping, dark-comedy that explores the hilarious and disturbing consequences of our society’s increasing trust in Artificial Intelligence. The story follows three couples as they allow an AI relationship therapy device into their homes in order to solve the pettiest of arguments. We took the opportunity to speak to cast member Tyger Drew-Honey (Outnumbered, Cuckoo) to tell us more.

Q) Can you tell us a little bit more about Artificially Yours and the character that you play?

It’s a show that gives the audience a glimpse into a not so distant future where AI has taken over the world somewhat and made its way into everyone’s homes. We follow three couples and watch the AI's effects on their lives.

Q) How has the process of working on Artificially Yours been so far?

Team is great. Rehearsal space has been great. Can’t ask for more.

Q) With the rise of AI and its prominence in the show, if you could use technology to do one thing in your life, what would it be?

Easy. Teleportation.

Q) If you could put a character that you have previously played into Artificially Yours, who would it be and why?

Alistair Ryle from POSH. The added vitriol and disdain would REALLY change Noah’s dynamic.

Q) You are well known for your roles in Outnumbered and Cuckoo, what have you found to be the biggest difference between TV work and theatre work?

The differences are endless really. Same ultimate craft, but I never get stage fright on TV work, but then never feel as exhilarated on TV work as I do once I’ve done a live theatre show! Swings and roundabouts I guess. More pressure in theatre, but certainly can feel more rewarding. Although telly pay is generally better so that’s nice.

Q What are you hoping audiences take away from Artificially Yours?

I’m hoping they leave the theatre having had a good old laugh, but with also some important, borderline existential question upon their minds. Is AI awesome or awful? Can it be both?

Q) Why should audiences come along to see Artificially Yours?

You should come and see it because why not. It’s fresh and new; with a great cast and topical subject matter. It’s funny, feel good and thought provoking. See you there!
